StudioExplore the history of zine-making and independent publishing through queer Canadian history with artist Jude Akrey.
This collaborative workshop explores the history of zine-making and independent publishing within queer Canadian communities. Zines and publications such as The Body Politic and Carousel Capers played an important role in queer liberation movements, helping people share knowledge, build community, and create networks outside of mainstream publishing.
Part artist talk and part hands-on workshop, the session invites participants to learn about this history and reflect on it through collaborative art making and zine creation.
No previous zine-making or art experience is necessary.
All materials and supplies provided.
